Terms of service
What you can expect from us and what we expect from you. The part worth reading twice is what you may not put behind a sticker.
What this is
You buy a pack of stickers. Each one carries a QR code that leads to a page on our server. Once you activate the pack, you decide what that page shows: a link to somewhere else, a written message, or a way for whoever finds your thing to reach you.
The sticker is a pointer. We host the page it points at and nothing else. What is on that page is yours, and so is the responsibility for it.
Buying a pack
The seller is Creslo, s.r.o., Kmeťova 36, Košice, Slovakia, IČO 51760193, DIČ 2120775019.
The price on the buying page is the whole price: VAT at your country's rate and postage are inside it, and nothing is added at checkout. Payment is by card, handled by Stripe on Stripe's own page — your card details never reach us.
Your pack goes to the post within 5 working days of the order, as a flat envelope by ordinary mail. If it has not arrived within 30 days, write to us and choose between a new envelope and your money back.
You can change your mind within 14 days of the envelope arriving, and you do not have to say why. Write to privacy@oneinchmessage.com with the pack ID from the delivery note, and send the whole pack back — complete and undamaged, stickers unpeeled — to Creslo, s.r.o., Kmeťova 36, Košice, Slovakia. Return postage is yours to pay. Within 14 days of the pack reaching us, we refund everything you paid to the card you paid with. If you had activated the pack, we switch it off and erase everything you put on it as part of the refund.
If something is wrong with what arrived — stickers missing, print damaged, a code that does not respond when scanned — that is ours to fix: you get a replacement or your money back, your choice. Your statutory warranty rights sit on top of everything in this section, untouched.
Your account
Your e-mail address is your account. There is no password — you sign in with a six digit code we send to that address.
That also means whoever can read your mail can sign in as you. Keep the address secure, and tell us if you lose access to it.
One address, one account. Every pack you activate under it lands in the same place.
You can delete the account yourself at any time, and you do not have to ask us or explain why. It takes everything with it, including the stickers already stuck on your things — they go out of service permanently and the packs can never be activated again. The page that does it says all of that before it does anything.
Activating a pack
A pack is activated with the master key printed on the card in the envelope, or by typing the codes from any three stickers in it that are not in use yet.
Whoever does that first owns the pack, and a pack can only be activated once. The card is the key to the pack, so treat it like a key. If you give the pack away, give away the card too, or write to us and we will move it across.
What you may not put behind a sticker
A sticker is scanned in public, by strangers, often by children, and almost always without any idea of where it leads. That is the entire reason for this list.
- Anything illegal, under the law that applies to you or to us.
- Fraud of any kind: fake payment pages, fake sign-in pages, or pretending to be a person or a company you are not.
- Malware, or a link to a download that installs something the visitor did not ask for.
- Sexual content. Not with a warning and not behind a further click — there is no way to know who is holding the phone.
- Anything that harasses, threatens or humiliates an identifiable person.
- Someone else's private information — address, phone number, photographs, documents — without their agreement.
- Incitement to violence or hatred against a group of people.
- Bulk advertising, redirect chains, affiliate laundering, or anything else whose purpose is to move traffic rather than to help whoever scanned.
- Instructions that put whoever follows them in danger.
Stickers go on your own things. Putting them on other people's property, or around public space as advertising, is not what they are for.
When something goes wrong
Anyone who scans a sticker can report it, without an account and without giving a name. Every report is read by a person — not by a filter, and nothing is switched off automatically.
We can switch off a single sticker or a whole account. If the content is dangerous we do it first and write to you afterwards; otherwise we write first. A switched-off sticker tells whoever scans it that it is out of service and shows nothing else — nothing about you is revealed.

How long this runs
You pay once. We commit to running the service for at least 10 years from the day a pack is activated, and after that for as long as the service exists. If it ever has to stop, everyone with an account gets a mail with enough notice to move on.
A sticker nobody scans costs us close to nothing to keep answering, so this is not a promise we expect to have trouble keeping.
There is no expiry for going quiet. A sticker on a box in the cellar, on tools you lend out once every few years, on something you hope never has to be scanned at all — that is the sticker doing its job, not an abandoned one. It sits there and it answers when someone finally taps it.
What we do not promise
The service is provided as it is. We keep it running and we fix what breaks, but we cannot promise it is never down and never wrong.
Do not use it where a failed scan does damage: medical information, emergencies, access control, anything with a deadline. It is a sticker on a thing, not a safety device.
We are not responsible for where a link takes you. The owner of the sticker chose that destination, not us — which is why the report form exists.
Before sending you anywhere we show you the address and let you decide. The one exception is an address we have checked against Google's list of dangerous sites and found clean, and which has been in place for at least a day; that one you go to directly. A checked address is not a recommended one. It means only that it was not on a blocklist when we looked — we do not vet what is on it, and no check catches everything.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to what you paid for the pack. Where the law does not allow it — injury caused by us, intent, gross negligence — nothing written here changes that. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are untouched by anything on this page.
Changes
We can change these terms. If a change matters to you, it goes by mail to the address on your account before it takes effect.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in apply regardless.
